GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, MULTIPLE OTHER OPTIONS IN THE SAME VICINITY! Much better services less than a mile from Accurate. Monday 12/16/19 - Took car in for a routine oil change. Car had been running perfectly fine. While driving home from oil change my car started acting strange and the check engine light came on. Tuesday 12/17/19 - Took my car back at lunchtime and asked if they could figure out why my check engine light came on. They did not call me once that day to update me on the vehicle, so I went after work and asked. The person working the desk said that my check engine light and the issues I was having with my car were unrelated and that is all the info he could give me. Wednesday 12/18/19 - Check engine light still on so I bring back to Accurate at 7am. End of the workday comes around and I still have received no phone call or update. Walk in and they tell me that my car is fine, good to go. When I walk out I realize the car hasn't moved from where I parked it and the check engine light is still on. From all visible signs, they did not even look at the car. Thursday 12/19/19 - Take my car in to one of their competitors that is near by. They come to the conclusion that my car needs $2,798.00 in repairs, my vehicle will not be done until late on Friday. The whole reason for the oil change in the first place was because I am driving across country to go home for Christmas. So because of Accurate Auto, I will be missing my family Christmas party on Saturday 12/21 and I will be paying $2,798 for repairs that they likely caused during a routine oil change. This level of incompetence is unprecedented in my lifetime. Simply unacceptable, possibly even criminal. Had I tried to make my cross country drive on their word that my car was good to go, I perhaps would not be alive to write this review. I work in an office building very close to their place of business. My coworkers and I were taking our cars their out of convenience. Safe to say no one will ever take their cars there again and that I will be telling every person with ears to listen to avoid Accurate Auto at all costs. If they cannot provide a simple oil change without ruining your entire week and possibly your Christmas, then I don't think anyone should trust them with any repairs at all. On the same road, no less than a mile from them, is about four other places that you can take your vehicle for repairs. Please do yourself a favor and go to one of those instead!
Mr. Dorian, Let us start off by giving our sincere apologies for our severe lack of follow up and service with you and your Ford Focus. This is absolutely not how we want to reflect on our customers and care for vehicles. We appreciate you being very candid in your review as this type of feedback is what it takes to change our processes to ensure something like this does not happen again. We had multiple technicians focus on the symptoms you mentioned while you dropped off, including the jerking and the check engine light. The very first thing we did was to verify oil levels, and make sure nothing was leaking. Everything on that end was in order. Second thing we did was to pull the only error code stored from the computer. The code we pulled was P0171 System Lean Bank 1. This error code can occur if one of the technicians didn’t reconnect a vacuum, or intake hose correctly after they checked your air filter during the DVI (Digital Vehicle Inspection). Other causes for this code could be a malfunctioning oxygen sensor, mass air flow sensor, or a fuel pump. We checked all of the vacuums for leaks and ensured that all connections to the intake system were tight. We then cleared the code and drove it to collect some data to aide in the diagnosis of your P0171. After driving the vehicle and putting some miles on it during three test drives, it did not exhibit any of the symptoms you described, nor did the check engine light turn on. The quote that you mentioned in your review seems odd for any potential repair or maintenance item related to the code in your system. I know that you are frustrated and rightfully so. We sincerely apologize. The vehicle did get looked at and you were not forgotten, but we certainly dropped the ball on communicating with you - which is most important. If possible, we would be so grateful for the opportunity to speak with you about further feedback. We do hope to hear from you - but understand if we don’t. Thank you, again, for your honest feedback. We hope your Christmas travels were successful and we wish you a happy New Year.
